The stir regarding Dalit-Muslim unity has increased again. It is going to start from Bihar, here the initiative to implement the formula of unity has intensified. To prepare its complete roadmap and implement unity, well-known personalities held an important meeting on 12 September in Patna Raja Bazaar.
Especially Dalit thinker and professor of Delhi University, Professor Ratan Lal also participated in this meeting. Well-known Muslim leader Ashfaq Rehman also attended the meeting. Apart from him, nationally renowned personality Dr. Abdul Hai, former Bihar CLP leader and former MLA Shakeel Ahmed Khan was also present. After a long discussion, it was decided in the meeting that considering the situation in the country, Dalit-Muslim unity is necessary and everyone should work together to take it forward.
On this occasion, Ashfaq Rehman said that Dalit-Muslim unity is possible only when the Dalit society completely stops violence against Muslims. Even if someone is misleading them, they will have to stop it. Ashfaq Rehman also said that the Dalit community is still the pawn of Brahminism. They have also forgotten that the creator of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was defeated by his people from Maharashtra so that Baba Saheb could not reach the Constituent Assembly. Then the Muslims of Bengal called Baba Saheb to their place and after winning from Khulna, sent him to the Constituent Assembly. But Dalits have forgotten this. Ashfaq Rehman said that Muslims have always taken the initiative of unity.
On which Dr. Hai said that the efforts should continue. Success and failure are in the hands of Allah. The solution to the problem will come only by sitting together. There is no need to be disappointed. In this situation, the way things are deteriorating, there is a need to strengthen this unity. Agreeing with the opinion of Ashfaq Rehman, he said that your role can be important in giving direction to the Dalit-Muslim alliance.
Ashfaq Rehman has long political experience and his work on many fronts is praiseworthy. Shakeel Ahmed Khan also said that we will sit again on September 20 and prepare the complete outline. We are currently visiting every district, conferences are being held.
Professor Ratan Lal said that there is still a complete void in Dalit politics. After Karpoori Thakur and Jagjivan Ram, no Dalit leader has got promotion in Indian politics. On this Ashfaq Rehman said that Ratan Lal's work on Dalit politics is very good. They need to project. He also told Ratan Lal that Dalit violence against Muslims has to be controlled and you should work in your society. The problems of Dalits are no less. It was decided in the meeting that Dalit-Muslim alliance could be discussed and taken forward.
