In the grand rally of the INDIA alliance, Rahul Gandhi claimed that 15 percent of voters were removed from the voter list after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, calling it vote theft and questioning the legitimacy of the election.
On Sunday, the INDIA bloc held a march and then a rally in Delhi against Gyanesh Kumar's resignation and the SIR. The four‑hour protest included 20 opposition parties. In Ramlila Maidan, left leader M. A. Baby, Deepankar Bhattacharya, Tejashwi Yadav, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee, Farooque Abdullah, Mahbooba Muftee, and finally Rahul Gandhi delivered speeches.
Rahul said, "Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has orchestrated vote theft; he must go to jail." Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Let them go to the underworld; we will find and bring them back. We will not let them go."
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha sharply targeted the central government. He said, "Here you all have come together; I thank you all." Rahul Gandhi said, "EVMs and the voter list have been used to steal votes. The voter list has cut off the names of the youth. The 2024 election was illegal. I am not saying this, but the Election Commission of the country is saying this because 13 crore people were removed from the voter list. This is not ordinary theft; it is treason. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are trying to hide Gyanesh Kumar, but they will not succeed. If they hide underground, we will bring them out from underground as well. Gyanesh Kumar will be removed."
Samajwadi Party president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, "Those who came from UP will leave from UP. Those who welcome well will also say a goodbye."
In Bihar, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, , said that Ramlila Maidan is usually held in Ramlila. We have organized Mahabharat for vote thieves. We have to make Kurukshetra. National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah said that we are gathered here to say that Muslims are always being pointed at. They say he is Pakistani. I want to tell the BJP that we have shed blood for India. We will keep shedding it. We must stay in this homeland.
Addressing the grand rally of the INDIA alliance, former West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee said that Bengal is a victim of SIR. She warned, "We will not spare them; we will fight."
