PATNA:दिल्ली की साकेत कोर्ट ने जामिया में हुए 2019 की हिंसा के केस में शरजील इमाम और आसिफ इकबाल तनहा को बड़ी राहत देते हुए बरी कर दिया है.हालांकि उन्हें अब भी कई अन्य मामलों के चलते जेल में ही रहना होगा.
शरजील को इससे पहले पिछले साल दिसंबर में सुप्रीम कोर्ट से एक मामले में राहत मिली थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट की एक टिप्पणी के मामले में शरजील इमाम को राहत दी थी.शरजील इमाम पूर्वी दिल्ली में हुए दंगों के मामले में भी आरोपी हैं ऐसे में उन्हें अभी जेल में ही रहना होगा.
शरजील इमाम बिहार के जहानाबाद जिले के रहने वाले हैं और साल 2019 में जामिया हिंसा के दौरान सुर्खियों में आए थे.शरजील इमाम ने आईआईटी बॉम्बे से बीटेक और एमटेक किया है.जबकि, 2013 में शरजील ने जेएनयू में आधुनिक इतिहास में पीजी की डिग्री पूरी की है.इनके मरहूम पिता अकबर इमाम जदयू के नेता थे.
